To answer your question…What is a Parrot Head? We are people who enjoy the Jimmy Buffett lifestyle and believe in his idealism of "doing something nice for the planet. " We are a group of people who not only like to party, but enjoy getting involved in a variety of community and environmental services.
• COMMUNITY LINK -As an innovator in the human service industry since 1972, Community Link provides a variety of servicesto over 500 children and adults with developmental disabilities. • ALZHEIMER ASSOCIATION The Alzheimer's Association, today a multimillion-dollar organization, has been the catalyst and leader for a generation of advancements in Alzheimer research and care. Their achievements and progress in the field have given thousands of people a better quality of life and brought hope for millions more. Relay For Life® is the American Cancer Society's signature event that brings more than 3.5 million people from 4,900 communities across the country together each year to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that takes too much. Relay For Life® is a fun-filled, overnight event that empowers everyone to help fight cancer by raising money and awareness to support the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission. Teams of people camp out at local high schools, parks, or fairgrounds and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Relay For Life® symbolizes the hope that people lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face the disease have support, and that one day cancer will be eliminated. • OPERATION HOMEFRONT-Operation Homefront provides emergency assistance and morale to our troops, to the families they leave behind and to wounded warriors when they return home. The core misson of the IRS is to fund research for threatments and a cure for Rett Syndrome while enhancing the overall quality of life for those living with Rett Syndromeby providing information, progrmas, and services. Since its inception in October 2007, Clinton County Parrothead Club has grown to 80+ members and has already become a part of Adopt-A-Highway (New Hwy 50 between Breese & Beckemeyer) and has had a fundraiser to buy books for area grade schools. We not only strive to help the environment & community but we also like to get out of Dodge every now and then. Parrotheads like to head to the beach or a concert whenever they can. We like to take excursions that range from a bus trip to the Loading Dock in Grafton to hanging out on Duval Street in Key West. |
